Project Description
…an adventurous, interesting, tranquil, fun tour perfect for those of you wanting to experience some history while enjoying the private surf and sand of a secluded Nicaraguan island
Join Julio Tours Nicaragua and spend an unforgettable day touring the neighboring island of Corinto. Once you port at Corinto please make your way to the main gate. Your tour guide will be holding a sign with your name on it. We will take a short relaxing stroll through the neighborhood to reach the shore of Corinto.
At the beach the local fishermen will supply you with life vests and assist you in boarding the boat. We head out across the water for a short 10 minute ride to Punta Castañones, also known as Linda Vista (beautiful view) , a secluded little paradise visited rarely by only a few locals. This island is poetic by nature. The vista will awaken all your senses and for a moment in time, there’s only you, the sand, and the sea breeze on your face. Entering from the bay side, in a few short steps you will experience unfolding blue waves and twisted weathered trees calling out to your camera. While your authentic fish lunch is cooking on an open fire, you will have your choice of a refreshing swim in the beautiful little bay, exploring this uninhabited island or simply dream your cares away in a hammock. You will hear about the interesting story of the Somoza family and Nicaragua’s famous poet Ruben Dario and his most popular poem “Margarita”.
Your island tour will end with a relaxing ride back to shore with a final opportunity to take some photos of the local pelicans. Returning to the main gate of the port is your choice of a short walk through town or the local transportation leaving plenty of time for your return the ship.
